The thigh is the site of common injuries to the quadriceps muscle (front) and the hamstring muscle (back).  These muscles are important for walking, running, climbing up stairs and many other activities in your life. 

Pain in the thigh region to occur from:

  • A direct blow to the area
  • A strain to the muscle
  • Can be referred from the lower back region (lumbar spine), hip or buttock

If you have any pins and needles or numbness in your upper leg you must get assessed as soon as possible.

If your thigh is causing you pain it is important to be assessed as soon as possible so we can identify the source of the pain and begin appropriate treatment.
